» End of Support for NeatReceipts Versions Preceding Version 2.7.5

NeatReceipts is announcing an important new policy affecting our customers.  Effective September 1, 2008, we will be discontinuing support for software versions preceding NeatReceipts Version 2.7.5.  These changes will help NeatReceipts more rapidly deliver improved solutions that better meet customer needs, while maintaining the highest levels of customer service and support. 

NeatReceipts has delivered more than a dozen software releases to customers since 2003 and we continue to support most of these releases today.  Maintaining this number of releases requires substantial effort and resources.  In order to continue to provide you with free technical support, we must manage the costs associated with supporting older versions.  This allows us to provide you with quality service and support, at no additional cost to you.

If you are using an older version of NeatReceipts and do not need support, you can continue to use the software as you have been.  However, if you need technical support (phone or online), you will need to update or upgrade to a supported version of NeatReceipts. 

Benefits of Updating and Upgrading

Customers who systematically update and upgrade to the most recent versions of NeatReceipts will have access to the newest features and support capabilities.  Additionally, future software updates and upgrades will only be possible from supported versions of NeatReceipts.  For example, when we release NeatReceipts Version 4.0, only customers using Version 2.7, 2.8 or 3.0 will be able to take advantage of the newest features and functionality offered in Version 4.0.

Although we encourage you to upgrade (generally there is a fee) to the latest software version available, you may update (generally updates are free) to any fully supported version to ensure access to phone and online support. 

Supported NeatReceipts Versions – Effective September 1, 2008


Version 2.7 and Version 2.8 are free updates.  These two versions have the same features and functionality; however, Version 2.7 is for customers running the Windows XP operating system and Version 2.8 is for customers running the Windows Vista operating system.  Instructions and update files can be found at www.neatreceipts.com/downloads

Version 3 is an optional, paid upgrade which introduces new features and functionality.  The upgrade is available currently at the special price of $29.95.  Version 3 is compatible with Windows XP and Vista.  You can learn more about NeatReceipts Version 3.0 at www.neatreceipts.com/upgrade.

  • Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or XP (64-bit is not currently supported)
  • Pentium IV 1.3 GHz or later
  • 512 MB RAM (1 GB highly recommended)
  • 300 MB hard disk space to install (database can scale up to 20 GB or approximately 800,000 receipts)
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Available USB port
  • A broadband Internet connection is suggested for updates

Version 2.8 & Version 3.x

  • Microsoft® Windows® XP or Vista® (64-bit is not currently supported)
  • Pentium IV 1.3 GHz or later
  • 1 GB RAM (2 GB highly recommended)
  • 1 GB hard disk space to install (database can scale up to 40 GB or approximately 1.5 million receipts)
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Available USB port
  • A broadband Internet connection is suggested for updates
